Emily Weatherly is a seasoned marketing executive experienced in building successful integrated marketing plans and serves as our Director of Marketing and Media Relations. She has a track record of successfully launching new service/product lines to grow revenue and market share for the organizations she has proudly served in her 20+ years in the field of marketing and advertising.

Emily has a proven ability to think critically and provide sound strategic and tactical counsel on complex marketing and advertising initiatives for the clients she serves.  Challenging the status quo and combating the age-old issue of “That’s the way we’ve always done it!” she has a reputation for innovation. Her experience spans all aspects of online and traditional marketing and advertising, including media buying and analysis, PR, social media marketing, website development, content development, digital communications, and creative services. Writing is her forte and she loves listening to her clients talk about their business, their passions and putting pen to paper to share their stories through press releases, website content, social media, emails, ad copy, promotional materials, video storytelling, and other communication strategies.

Emily is an alumnus of the University of Southern Mississippi and received her Bachelor’s in Journalism. Immediately after graduation, she moved to her hometown to serve as Director of Marketing for DiscoverOurTown.com, one of the initial travel websites in the early 2000s. She worked with marketing leaders in Vicksburg, Mississippi to form VAMP – Vicksburg Association of Marketing Professionals and, from networking within that organization, found her calling: healthcare marketing. Her healthcare career began at River Region Medical Center and thus opened the door to move to Victoria, TX in 2003 to serve as Guest Relations Coordinator (serving in administration and assisting the marketing department at DeTar Healthcare System. There, she developed a custom guest relations program and employee standards of excellence program titled “The DeTar Difference” (which elements are still in place today). She then lead the Victoria Chamber of Commerce as vice president then as interim director and shifted to publishing in 2007, working for The Victoria Advocate where she published two books Vintage Victoria and Vintage Victoria II. She worked closely with area non-profits to match sponsorship opportunities that aligned with the leadership’s goals and led award-winning campaigns and marketing efforts until 2017, when she transitioned to Advocate Digital Media, serving as their Media Manager. In this role, she worked closely with the team on new client acquisition, campaign development, as well as another forte: media plan creation and execution. Emily is passionate about media buying and helping clients to understand their media purchases and the strengths of the various media platforms available, often finding areas that are underserved and those that can deliver stronger ROI.

In 2018, Emily returned to her healthcare marketing roots when she assumed the position of Director of Marketing and Development for Cuero Regional Hospital. Working with key components of the recent rebrand of the organization, she worked closely with internal stakeholders to develop a vibrant, strategic, and tactical marketing plan to meet the needs of the organization and tell their incredible story to their audience. New messaging challenges arose with COVID’s impact, and this is where Emily’s innovative fire was lit once more! Finding new ways to communicate quickly and effectively with internal and external audiences was developed and many of those best practices continue to thrive today in the organization’s marketing efforts.

Emily is passionate about her relatively new hometown of Cuero, in being an active member of the community, serving on multiple boards, including Rotary Club of Cuero and Cuero ISD Education Foundation. She is a proud mother to her son, William, and her “fur child” Evie.  When not on her laptop working for her BBM clients, you can find her at the gym as she’s passionate about fitness, as well as the incredible benefits of an active life! Emily’s enthusiasm for life and making the most of each day on this earth is contagious. She looks forward to working with the BBM family, many of which she has worked with in previous roles, and recently as a client!
